Rufus Oil Limited was incorporated under the Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the 18^th of June 1997 (Reg. No. RC314415). The company started its operations in 1998 with one station at km15 Owerri/Okigwe Road, Owerri, Imo state and was issued with a storage and sale license on the 17^th of July 2001 by the Ministry of Petroleum Resources (MPR) under the license number BN02385/200 with identification code LND-2247/RV. The head office of the company in situated at No. 176 NTA Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State with outlets and service stations scattered all over the country. As the name goes, the company is incorporated to undertake the following amongst others;

• the business of marketing and distribution of petroleum products
• representation and agency for crude oil and petroleum products
• sales both locally and internationally
• to act as agents for refiners.

The company also carries on business in the sale of liquefied natural Gas and all kinds of allied products, petrol-chemicals and all varieties and substance related thereto. Furthermore, it constructs and operates gas processing plants, production of all types and variety of liquefied natural gas, maintenance of oil pipe-line, oil field installations, industrial installations, flow stations, gas and petrol stations.

In 2003, Rufus oil ltd reached a major dealership agreement with Conoil Nig. plc (a major marketer of petroleum products in Nigeria) and therefore dropped its independent marketing status to become a Conoil Nig. plc dealer in a 5 years dealership contract.
